Microphone Shootout and Audio Samples
Some of the audio files on this page were all recorded simultaneously:
- She sells seashells
- Male announcer at 24 inch distance
- Male announcer at 5 inch distance
- Gibson SJ-200 Guitar
The mics used were the FAR 47, the FAR 251 , the Audio Technica AT4040 and an APEX *450 stock.
*Note: not a 460 but a 450, which was a better microphone but is discontinued
The mics were arranged in a cluster so that capsules were as close together as possible.
All other files are provided for simple reference in a typical usage situation.
